I am a Navy veteran with 31 years of service under my belt, having navigated many challenging situations and faced countless obstacles head-on. Through my experience, I have understood that leadership is not just a position; it's a way of life; it’s a duty; the essence of the service.
Life on the open sea teaches you a lot more than just discipline and order. It teaches you about people. On the deck of a ship, you don't just see a crew; you see a group of individuals, each with their unique strengths, dreams, and fears. It's the people, not the ship, that truly make a difference.
During my tenure in the Navy, it became clear to me that my true calling wasn't just leading to the best of my capabilities, but also learning and, most importantly, empowering others to lead. I relished the opportunity to mentor others, to see them grow, and surpass their expectations.
I found my life purpose.
So, when I hung up my Navy cap, I knew I wanted to keep pursuing my purpose, but this time in a different way - as a leadership and personal leadership coach. Personal leadership is about taking charge of our lives.
